My First Interview Journey with EmbedUR

Every beginning is a memory to be cherished, and my first interview journey with EmbedUR, spanning over two days, was indeed special.

Preparation Before the Interview

Days before the placement session, I engaged with my seniors to learn about their placement journeys. Though I wasn’t familiar with the names of the companies, I understood how to equip myself based on the company requirements. Each company had a unique strategy, and through my quest, I explored EmbedUR. Now, let’s dive into my actual interview experience.

Day 1: The Aptitude Test and Group Discussion 1

On the first day of the drive, we began with an aptitude test followed by a pre-placement talk with experts who provided insights into the company. Those shortlisted from the aptitude test were called for Group Discussion (GD) 1, which covered various concepts from OS, Networks, Compiler, and C.

For me, it felt like being set on fire as I had to attend it with the top students of my department, who seized every chance to answer. When I finally mustered the confidence to discuss page faults, I presented various approaches but was questioned about the causes, which left me perplexed. Eventually, I figured out the concept and provided an answer. With the completion of GD-1, day 1 came to an end. Despite my doubts about clearing GD-1, I did.

Day 2: Group Discussion 2 and HR Interview

On day 2, those shortlisted from GD-1 were called for GD-2, focusing on the same concepts as earlier. This time, I wasn’t seized by fear and felt more comfortable. The panel started questioning students from left to right. I answered about the different types of memory management when the question was open to all. During my turn, I was asked how to convert a binary tree to a BST. Interestingly, I was asked just one question while others faced multiple. Among the students called for the next round (HR interview), I was one of them.

The HR Interview Experience

We waited until each of us was called. During this time, I interacted with friends from other departments and learned some cool tech stuff. When it was my turn, I was asked various questions like the compiler phases and Inter-Process Communication. I felt happy recollecting the knowledge I had gained over the years. For questions I wasn’t aware of, I honestly admitted my lack of knowledge but assured them I would learn those concepts. The HR interview ended with them saying they would call me if needed. This left me clueless about the outcome. Later, I was called along with five others for feedback about the interview process. With all these rounds, the process came to an end.

Lasting Impressions

It was truly a miraculous day that stands out as one of my favorites from my time as an undergraduate. Not only was this interview process with EmbedUR a career stepping stone, but it was also a deeply educational one. I learned the value of readiness, self-assurance, and flexibility from it. Despite my early anxiety and difficulties, I came to see that chances may be created out of uncertainty if one is persistent and open to learning. This event launched my professional career, gave me priceless experiences and lessons I will always treasure, and made me better equipped and driven to take on new challenges.
